Jeo Su-Ho - Backstory

Early Life

Su-Ho was born in Seoul, Korea on the evening of 12th of December 1996. Her parents Jeo Duri and Jeo Si-U were an average couple. They were married and Duri worked as a doctor as for Si-U she was working at a small convenience store she owned while Su-Ho was at school. Everything was going great for the family they recently bought a good home to live in and was planning on having more kids. However, on the day of 17th August 2002 Duri was diagnosed with heart disease which caused him to have high blood pressure often. Even though the doctor which diagnosed him told him that he should stop working so he doesn't make it worse, he still decided that he wanted to carry on pushing himself. He never told Si-U about his condition and Su-Ho was too young to understand at the time. He believed that this would be better since they will not worry about him and he could still keep working for the money to support his family. During this time Si-U became pregnant with a baby boy who they called Joe Lee and gave birth later that year. Su-Ho adored her new brother and they were inseparable. She used to go outside and play many popular kids' games with him and they barely had any fights. Everything seemed like it was going up for her family despite the secret that lay within. On the year of 2011, Duri pushed himself too hard in his job and the result of that was a heart attack while he was on shift. Si-U was called immediately and she took Su-Ho and her brother and rushed them to the hospital where he sadly passed away later that night. Wondering why this happened she talked to the doctors who revealed his condition. Of course, she was angry and confused about why he never informed her about his condition and due to him being the main source of income it was more stressful for Si-U to keep the income coming in for the house. With Su-Ho being only 13 at the time she became confused about what really happened and since she witnessed her own father passing away in front of her she became very anxious and worried about her other family members.

Teenage Life

After the passing of her father her mother then became very depressed and stressed since Duri was the main source of income for the family. She started to slack off work over the years and started to result to alcohol. This is when Su-Ho noticed that she needed to do something in order to keep her family alive and well. She started her first job at the age of 14. She started by running the convenience store which her mother already owned. She worked a few hours before school and then after-school. She was determined to make sure that she can provide for her mother as well as her younger brother.Since of course, Si-U was not a suitable parental figure for her and Lee, Su-Ho took the matter into her own hands and made sure that Lee had someone to come to when he needed help. She dealt with making sure he gets to school, he gets on top of his grades if he misbehaves she would make sure to lecture him. She also made sure that she put him first before anything. She always thought that her teenage years would be more exciting and would be able to have many friends. However, she did not have the time to do the things that most people her age would do. But this did not bother her as much since she knows that if she didn't step up then it could of lead to bigger consequences. In school, she always made sure that she would get good grades. She studied hard while she was waiting on customers to come into the store. She would also stay up late at night just to study. Her relationships with teachers were good but when it comes to students she was very distant and didn't interact with them much. She preferred to be independent. Teachers noticed that she was very distant and decided that they would put Su-Ho in charge of introducing a new student that came from America with the name of Vincenzo Bateman. She was not so delighted at the idea of having to help the new student out because she believed it would not be worth her time. However, as it turned out she and Vincenzo actually had a lot in common. They both shared an interest in being on the police force someday and both want to go to college after they finish high school. They often talked about their future and started to hang out more often. They went to places such as cafes, arcades, and parks and even went to each other's houses. His mother Sienna was very friendly with her and became someone who she can trust. Whenever she needed advice she would always come to Sienna and they would talk for hours. Vincenzo also helped Su-Ho with the store even though she always got mad at him for doing so. They remained very close friends throughout high school and applied to the same college. After a long time of waiting for the results, it turns out that they both got accepted. They were going to a college which was in Japan. But of course, Su-Ho was worried about leaving her brother behind with her mother and him having to also work as hard as she had to from a very young age. She insisted that she was going to stay and give up on her dreams. But with some convincing by Vincenzo and Sienna, they made an agreement that Vincenzos mother would take in Lee and take care of him while she was gone. After they graduated high school they both packed their bags and took a flight to Japan. They promised each other that they would always have each other's backs no matter what and that they would try and encourage one another.

College life

College was something that was very different for Su-Ho. It was full of new people who wanted to talk to her and many different classes which spiked her interest. She loved the atmosphere of the city and she would often see herself feeling more relaxed. She was always so used to working really hard but this was a more relaxing time for her. But of course, she made sure that she was still on top of all her studies. Her subject of interest was criminology since this was what she wanted to use to help her get into the police force which she desired since high school. Learning about why different types of crimes were committed and how the public sees crime was something she never thought she would be able to achieve in her life. After a few years of studying she graduated college along with ... and started her plan on what she will do in the future. She had applied to the local police force because she wanted to stay in Japan since she felt more at peace. She, however, still often went back to Korea to visit her brother on special holidays. Her life was starting to look up for her.
